
A 17-year-old was killed after his car collided with a telegraph pole in the early hours of Monday morning.
The crash occurred on Range Lane, Denshaw and involved three other people who were taken to hospital with what is believed to be minor injuries.
A second man remains in custody and is being questioned about the incident.
The area’s Road Policing Unit is urging anyone with information about the accident to come forward.

“I urge anyone who was in the area of has information about this collision to come forward and speak to us,” said Sergeant Lee Westhead.
“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a 2002 registered Red Peugeot 307 in the Oldham or West Yorkshire area in the early hours of Monday morning.”
