If I'm involved in a trip or a fall (and have been injured as a result), what measures should I take in the immediate aftermath?

Straight after a trip or a fall, you are likely to feel embarrassed, disorientated and be left in pain. However, there are several things you must remember to do, in order to maximise your chances of a successful claim.

After you've had a trip or a fall, you should:

• write down as many detail as you can remember of the circumstances surrounding the incident
• take contact details of all available witnesses
• seek medical inspection from a doctor, no matter how minor you may believe your injuries to be
• report your accident to the relevant authority
• take photographs of both the scene, and of any injuries you suffer - such as cuts and bruises

So I've done all that, do I really need a lawyer?
