Making a compensation claim as a pedestrian
In general as a pedestrian you never expect to come into contact with a car, but this is not always the case and sometimes through no fault of your own you could find yourself injured as the result of a hit and run accident by a negligent driver – and left with serious injuries as a result. As a pedestrian it’s important that you use the designated footpaths and crossing areas, or you could be putting yourself at serious risk of an incident with a car, however if you have been doing this and you are still involved in an accident with a car then you could be eligible to make a compensation claim.
In general, any accident between a car and a pedestrian can leave the pedestrian with rather serious injuries as they are not afforded the type of protection that a car can offer its occupants – and therefore you could find that broken bones, lacerations and serious head injuries are only the start of your problems. If this is the situation and you are left substantially out of pocket as a result, you could be eligible to make a compensation claim.
